A firefighter is out of jail after posting a $180,000 bond hours after he was charged in connection with five additional fires in the Pike Road community.

Montgomery County Sheriff D.T. Marshall said Jason Michael Green, a Pike Road volunteer and a Montgomery firefighter, was arrested yesterday.

Marshall also said in addition to the arson charges Green was charged with six counts of burglary counts and two counts of theft.

State Fire Marshall Ed Paulk said the burglary charges stem from property stolen from the scenes of fires, and one that didn't involve a fire.

Green was first charged with arson on December 28th. Authorities say 15 suspicious fires were deliberately set in the town of Pike Road over the past 18 months.

Another volunteer firefighter, Justin Gorman, was arrested Saturday night in connection with the blazes. Gorman was charged Monday with five arson counts, four burglary counts and two theft counts. He was released from the Montgomery County Detention Facility late Monday on a $35,000 bond.

The sheriff said the investigation will yield more suspects.
