Four-Alarmer Fought By Pennsylvania Firefighters

It took firefighters nearly 4 hours to put out a fire in the 600 block of Halkett Street early Monday morning.

Police dispatchers answered the 911 call just after 1 a.m.

When officers first arrived on the scene, they called for more help after they saw flames shooting out of the roof.

One officer even picked up a hose and started pouring water on the vacant duplex.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal ruled the fire -- which reached four alarms -- was intentionally set.
