Maryland Firefighter Injured in Condo Blaze

The firefighter was taken to Howard County General to be treated for dehydration.

HOWARD COUNTY --

A fire at a Howard County condominium complex left one firefighter injured. According to officials, the fire was reported just after 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the 8300 block of Montgomery Run Road in Ellicott City.

Two condo units sustained minor damage when crews had to break through the walls to access the fire. The fire was declared under control just before 9 a.m. The Howard County fire department said a malfunctioning air conditioning unit sparked the fire.

The firefighter was taken to Howard County General to be treated for dehydration. No one else was hurt.
