MERIDEN, Conn. --
Firefighters had to run after a roof partially collapsed at an office building at 1 Research Parkway as they were fighting a fire Sunday. Then they switched gears and brought in a truck to fight the fire.
Fire authorities said they got the call about the fire at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday. No one was in the two-story building at the time.
Firefighters said it's a good possibility that workers would not be able to return to work Monday morning. That includes more than 50 employees from the Visiting Nurse Association.
Firefighters said it took half an hour to get the blaze under control. They were still working to put out hotspots as of 10 a.m. Sunday.
Fire officials were not sure whether weather sparked the blaze.
