Wisconsin Firefighters Battling Multi-Alarmer

Jan. 8, 2007
The fire in Elkhorn has reached four alarms so far.

Fire crews battled a four-alarm fire at a four-story building in downtown Elkhorn Monday morning.

It started before 6 a.m. at Wisconsin and Walworth streets, at Moy's Chinese Restaurant.

Owner Paul Moy said he was the last person to leave the restaurant Sunday night.

Investigators said the fire started somewhere in the kitchen in the back of the building.

Crews from all over Walworth County were called to fight the fire.

Historians in Elkhorn said former President John F. Kennedy once stayed in the building when it was a hotel.

Meanwhile, fire officials are still trying to figure out what caused the kitchen to go up in flames.
