Kansas City Firefighters Fall Through Floor Battling Fire

The house had been vacant.

Two firefighters fell through the kitchen floor to the basement while battling a fire at a home in the 600 block of East Lexington Avenue early Tuesday morning.

They were not seriously hurt.

Crews were called to the vacant house at about 1 a.m. KMBC's Brenda Washington reported that no one has lived in the home for about six months.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
