San Diego Uses Temporary Fire Station

Jan. 24, 2006
The City Council voted in November to set up a temporary fire station following concerns about increasing emergency response times.

A temporary fire station is being set up in Mission Valley.

On Monday, a trailer that will house a firefighting crew until a permanent station is built was transferred to the grounds of Qualcomm Stadium.

Officials hope to make firefighters' response times faster to incidents like the tanker fire near the stadium last month.

The permanent station is planned for a site across Friars Road.
