A two-alarm fire Thursday morning force the evacuation of almost one-third of the Pentagon.
Officials with the Arlington County Fire Department said the fire broke out about 7:45 a.m. in a third-floor kitchen stove and then spread to ductwork that passed through the fourth and fifth floors and then on to the roof.
Officials said cleanup work was hampered by asbestos around the ductwork.
People working in the area had to be evacuated, but they were allowed back inside the building a short time later.
No one was injured and officials said damage is estimated at $200,000.
Areas of the building near the ductwork have been closed for the time being, officials said.
