Chesterfield Virginia Firefighters Tackle Commerical Fire

Extensive overhaul was required in the oppressive heat.

Firefighters were toned out for a possible commercial structure fire. The temperatures were 100 plus on July 21 at 1351 hours.

Responding to 11121 Midlothian Turnpike, a Hardees, were Engine and Medic 20, Engine 4, Engine 5, Engine 9, Truck 7, Battalions 3 and 4, TSO, Safety 1, PED 1 and the on duty Fire Marshal. A district manager from Hardees also responded to the incident. Chesterfield County Police provided traffic and crowd control.

First on scene reported a working fire with fire and smoke showing from a wall.

Patrons and employees were evacuated.

Multiple handlines and five inch quick connect supply line snaked across the parking lot.

After the initial knockdown of the fire, crews had a tough task ahead. Extensive overhaul was required in the oppressive heat. Crews were rotated and rehab was established.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.
