Indianapolis Firefighters Rescue 3 from Blaze

Two adults and a child made it to their second-floor balcony to escape the flames.

INDIANAPOLIS --

Three people were rescued from an apartment fire on Indianapolis' west side Friday morning.

The blaze broke out at the Chesapeake Landing apartments, just south of 38th Street and west of Interstate 465.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 5 a.m.

Two adults and a child made it to their second-floor balcony to escape the flames. Firefighters used a ladder to get them down.

The victims were treated at the scene for minor cuts and smoke inhalation.
