ORANGEBURG, S.C. --
Orangeburg County investigators say a fire that killed a man in a mobile home was possibly caused by a faulty heater.
Sheriff Larry Williams says an autopsy in Newberry determined that 75-year-old Enoch Clay Simpson died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Friday's fire.
The sheriff says the fire has been ruled an accident. He says there was no indication of foul play.
Simpson's body wasn't discovered until firefighters extinguished the fire that destroyed his mobile home.
Neighbors say Simpson had last been seen about an hour before the blaze.
The mobile home had no electricity, but there were several kerosene heaters inside.
