LITHONIA, Ga. --
Six DeKalb County firefighters were rushed to the hospital with minor injuries Thursday after they were pulled from a burning home by fellow firefighters.
The men were injured when a floor collapsed in the burning home on Sandy Lake Drive in Lithonia.
"There was a may day call that went out that our firefighters were down," said Capt. Eric Jackson of the DeKalb County Fire Department.
Their injuries ranged from heat exhaustion to a sprained ankle. All should be released from the hospital by Thursday afternoon.
The home burned to the foundation.
"Everything is gone, I have nothing," said Jeffrey Harrison, a son of the homeowners, who were out of town.
