Lightning Sparks 2-Alarm House Fire In Georgia

Lightning is being blamed for a two-alarm fire that destroyed a huge DeKalb County home.

DeKalb County firefighters say flames were shooting 10-20 feet into the air from the roof of the house at 3037 Lion Pointe when they arrived on the scene around 2:30 this morning.

A neighbor had kicked in the front door and was trying to alert anyone inside the burning home.

Fortunately, the family living at the home was out of town and no one was injured in the blaze.

Neighbors say the house across the street was hit by lightning and burned last year.
