Two East Point firefighters have been suspended; accused of drinking and driving a department vehicle.

A DeKalb County police officer pulled over the two lieutenants for flashing the emergency lights on a fire department sedan. The firefighters were leaving a department training session.

The officer says he smelled alcohol on the men. A breathalyzer test showed the pair had been drinking, but were NOT legally drunk.

"We have launched an internal investigation," said East Point Fire Chief Rosemary Cloud.

They have been put on paid leave while the department investigates.
