Indiana Mother, Child Saved From Apartment Fire

A woman called dispatchers and told them that she couldn't get out.

Firefighters saved a mother and her child trapped by a fire in an apartment underneath them Friday morning.

The fire broke out at about 2 a.m. at an apartment complex on Alton Avenue near 30th Street.

A woman called dispatchers and told them that she couldn't get out. Firefighters rescued them and put out the flames downstairs.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
