HOUSTON --
Firefighters had to battle multiple obstacles when they tried to put out a fire at a southwest Houston home early Monday, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Houston firefighters responded to a fire at a home on South Braeswood Boulevard near North Braeswood Boulevard at about 1:30 a.m.
Crews had a difficult time getting into the home because of burglar bars over the windows. Once firefighters got inside, they had trouble navigating through the home because it was filled with belongings.
A resident got out of the home without injury.
The home sustained severe damage.
Detectives said the fire may have started in the kitchen.
