CASTLE ROCK, Colo. --

Two people were badly burned after an explosion at a home in Castle Rock Saturday night.

Firefighters said four people were inside the home at the time of the explosion.

Two construction workers were taken to the hospital with second-degree burns on their faces and hands.

Officials said the workers were working with some type of stain when the blast happened.

It is not known if their work influenced the fire. Investigators spent Sunday looking over the home looking for the cause of the explosion.

The home's sprinkler system was activated when the fire started and helped put out the fire before crews arrived.
