WARREN COUNTY, Ohio --

Deputy Mike Wyatt was on routine patrol Sunday morning when he observed flames coming from the rear of the residence at 6710 Hendrickson Road, Turtlecreek Township in Warren County.

Wyatt tried to get into the residence but was unable to because of the flames and smoke, police said.

Middletown fire units and Turtlecreek fire units arrived on the scene and controlled the fire, police said.

When firefighters were able to enter the residence, they found the body of a male in an upstairs bedroom. He was deceased.

Warren County Sheriff's Office detectives, Warren County Coroner's Chief Investigator Doyle Burke, and State Fire Marshal's Office Assistant Chief Mike McCarroll are jointly investigating the fire and death.
