LANCASTER, Pa. --
One person is dead after a fire Saturday morning in Lancaster.
Officials said the fire broke out just after 4 a.m. on the 500 block of First Street.
Firefighters said when they arrived on the scene they found several people trapped on the second floor of the home.
They were able to rescue all but one person.
Four other people were taken to the hospital.
Firefighters said state police and the fire marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
Fire Chief Tim Gregg said, "There was a smoke detector, not sure if it was sounding or not, it was laying on the floor."
There is still no word on the conditions of those injured in the fire.
