GREENSBORO --
A Greensboro firefighter who was suffering from a heat injury while fighting a fire on Atlas Street Monday morning was taken to the hospital for evaluation, Guilford County fire officials said.
Eight fire units responded to the home around 2:30 a.m. and discovered that smoke was pouring from the roof.
A half-hour later the crews had the fire, which officials said started after food was left unattended, under control.
Damage was estimated at $30,000 to the structure and $15,000 to the contents.
