SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. --
An overnight fire destroyed a home on Jericho Drive in Seminole County Sunday, killing a man who was trapped inside.
The call on the fire came in to Seminole County Fire around 1:10am, and when firefighters arrived they found a home near Red Bug Road engulfed in flames.
Neighbors at the scene said that the man was undergoing medical treatment and that there were oxygen tanks inside the home. Witnesses described hearing explosions while the fire was raging.
A fire department spokesperson said that the victim's wife and grandson got out safely and that the State Fire Marshall's Office would be investigating the cause of the blaze.
The victim's name was not released at the scene, but he was believed to be in his late 50s.
