If convicted, the teens each face 5 to 99 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Three teenagers have been charged in connection with a charter school fire, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston Fire Department officials said Russell Geofroy, 18, Anthony Holton, 19, and Jonathan Brooks, 19, were charged with felony arson.

Officials said the teens admitted their involvement in the blaze at the Alta Academy Charter School in the 8300 block of Lawndale Street on Jan. 27.

The fire destroyed on building and caused moderate damage to a second building, investigators said.

Officials said Geofroy was a student at the school and was upset because he was sent home the day of the fire.

The teens purchased lighter fluid from a store, jumped a fence at the school and set the fire, investigators said.

If convicted, the teens each face 5 to 99 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
