Volunteer firefighters have played a key role in the wildfire fight, and now an Oklahoma state official wants to ensure they're protected.

Lt. Gov. Mary Fallin has vowed to pass a law that would keep volunteer firefighters from losing their primary jobs while fighting fires.

Fallin said she also wants to protect the jobs of reserve law-enforcement officers during outbreaks of wildfires and other state disasters.
