Pennsylvania Firefighters Charged With Arson

Two firefighters are charged with setting nine fires scattered across Crawford County.

Two Saegertown volunteer firefighters are in jail, accused of fighting the fires they were setting themselves. Darren Amy and Joseph Dille, both 19, are charged with setting nine fires scattered across Crawford County.

The suspicious fires started in August. However recently, the rate of those suspicious fires grew, with three in just nine days. The most recent was early Thursday morning on Mill Street in Saegertown.

Authorities arrested Amy and Dille as a result of evidence gathered at that fire, linking it to evidence gathered at the other arsons. Police say the structures were mostly unoccupied, that the fires started the same way, and that the Saegertown Volunteer Fire Department was at each and every one.

Amy and Dille are charged with arson, criminal conspiracy, burglary, and criminal trespass. They are now in Crawford County jail, on $500,000 bond.
