An Ann Arbor, Michigan firefighter was seriously injured Saturday when she was struck by a pickup truck that lost control on an Icy Interstate, the The Ann Arbor News reported Sunday.

Amy Schnearle, 34, had just started her shift when her station was alerted for an accident in I-94. As she and another responder approached a vehicle involved in a crash, the pickup truck slid across the roadway into the previous crash scene, striking Schnearle from behind, the newspaper said.

The other firefighter was able to jump out of the way. The seven-year veteran's condition was initially listed as critical.
