Enon and River's Bend area fire crews were toned out for a report of fire in the woods at 400 E. Hundred road on Dec. 1,2007 around 1225 hours, fire crews sprang into action.
First on scene declared a large fire in the woods beside East Hundred Road and behind a trailer park.
Engine 18, Tanker 6 and Brush 6 crews fought the approximinate one acre blaze.
Firefighters hiked through thick brush, briars, forest floor with holes covered by leaves and up a small ravine.
Dry timber and thick leaves supplied fuel for the blaze..
The operation included 600 feet of three-inch hose gated down to 1 3/4-inch and 400 feet of Forestry Line.
A resident in the trailer park who did not want to be identified said that several youths had been spotted in the woods shortly before the fire broke out.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire contained and no damage was reported to any of the mobile homes.
The Fire Marshal's office is investigating the fire's cause
