Fire Destroys 2 Florida Homes

Neighbors said the home where the fire sparked was supposedly vacant.

A fast-moving fire destroyed two homes in Seminole County, Fla., early Friday.

A police officer noticed flames at a home located at the intersection of Olive Avenue and West 13th Street during a routine patrol of the area.

When firefighters arrived, one of the homes was fully engulfed by flames and fire had spread to a nearby home.

By the time the fire was extinguished, both homes were destroyed.

Neighbors said the home where the fire sparked was supposedly vacant.

"We will question neighbors as to any activity prior to the fire -- if they saw anyone in the area," fire investigator Mark James said.

The owner of the neighboring home was not in the structure at the time of the fire. Police are trying to contact the homeowner Friday.
