TUSCALOOSA, Ala. --

An explosion and fire aboard a houseboat docked at Eagle Cove Marina on Holt Lake left three people injured, including a man who suffered serious burns.

Investigators are trying to determine if the blaze was deliberately set.

Tuscaloosa County Police blamed a leaking propane tank for igniting Sunday's blast. Captain Loyd Baker, Metro Homicide Commander, described it as a flash fire that quickly burned itself out.

Jeffrey Albright, 50, suffered life threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition at UAB Hospital. Two others aboard the boat also were hut and were treated and released.

Authorities said the fire erupted at about 3 a.m.
