Alberta Firefighter Dies In Off-Duty Crash

The firefighter was soon to finish his probation period

Fort McMurray Today of Alberta has reported that a porbationary Fort McMurray firefighter died in a two-vehicle collision on December 27. Mark Cornell, 24, died in a car accident while heading southbound on Highway 63.

Icy roads may have been a factor in the accident, according to police.

A Red Deer resident, Cornell has been a volunteer with the Red Deer Volunteer Fire Department before turning professional.
