Fire officials said a fire that injured a boy and his grandfather was intentionally set.
The family's northeast home caught fire early Friday morning at 319 Lawndale Ave. The house was destroyed.
Firefighters said a 3-year-old girl woke up her family in time to evacuate.
"At this point, that little girl is a hero. It looks like she saved a family of four," Battalion Chief Joe Vitale said.
The girl's 20-month-old brother and her grandfather were taken to a local hospital. The grandfather suffered burns on his back and arms, and the child's hair was singed. They are expected to recover.
Officials said the grandfather was injured when he rushed back into the house to rescue the boy.
"I started screaming for him because he was stuck. He came running out; he had a blanket -- it got stuck. He started rolling around on the ground -- he was screaming," granddaughter Violet Dwyer said.
The grandfather had burns on his back and arms.
Fire investigators said the blaze was set in several spots outside the home. Officials said no one living in the home is suspected in the case.
