Virginia Firefighters Knock Trailer Fire

Residents of the trailer, a mother and two children had minor burns and smoke inhalation.

Tones sounded shortly around 0800 on June 14, dispatching Chesterfield Engines 3, 11,17, DSCR Engine 23 (on mutual aid), Chesterfield Truck 3, Medic Units 3 and 17, Tactical Safety Officer Lt. John Crosby and Battalion One Chief Bobby Lukhard to a rapidly advancing mobile home fire. Chesterfield County Police responded to assist with crowd control and traffic control.

Engine 3 and Truck 3 staged at the front of the burning structure. Engine 11 staged at the entrance to the trailer park. Engine 17 staged on Jeff Davis Hwy. near the entrance to the trailer park. Engine 23 staged at the end row of trailers. Five inch supply line was laid in a split lay, multiple 1 3/4 inch hand lines were stretched.

Residents of the trailer, a mother and two children had minor burns and smoke inhalation and were transported by Medic 3 and Medic 17 to a local hospital .

A quick knock was accomplished in spite of the advanced stage of the fire when crews were summoned.

The cause is under investigation,the home is a total loss.
