Fake NY Firefighter Indicted

The man suspected of posting as a firefighter in order to sexually assault a woman in Chelsea on Halloween was indicted Friday.

Former fashion writer Peter Braunstein faces charges of sexual abuse, arson, burglary, and robbery.

He is recovering from a stab wound to the neck, which authorities say was a suicide attempt when he was captured in Tennessee last week.

Braunstein's lawyer is asking for a psychiatric examination to determine whether his client is mentally fit to stand trial.

The judge who presided at the indictment left that decision up to the trial judge.

Braunstein is due back in court on January 5th.
