NEW BRITAIN, Conn. --

Firefighters battled a fire at a three-story home on Rocky Hill Avenue in New Britain Monday.

Crews were able to contain the flames to a third-floor bedroom and part of the attic.

All of the residents made it out fine but two cats who lived on the third floor had to be given oxygen.

Firefighters said the animals were overcome by smoke but should be fine. After getting the oxygen, the cats were returned to their owner.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
