Woman Dies In Iowa House Fire

Firefighters pulled a woman from the building but she was pronounced dead.

One person has been killed after an overnight house fire in Johnston.

The fire started just after midnight.

Neighbors reported seeing smoke coming from the home at 6119 Terrace Drive.

When firefighters arrived flames were shooting through the roof.

Crews from all over the metro and surrounding suburbs were called in to help.

Firefighters said they went in and found a woman inside the home. The pulled her from the building but she was pronounced dead.

The home was extensively damaged.
