AMBRIDGE, Pa. --
Fire destroyed a family-owned Beaver County business and left a firefighter and a police officer injured.
Police blocked off the street as George's Appliance burned on Merchant Street in Ambridge on Sunday.
Neighbors who watched it burn said the store has been around longer than many of them can remember.
Dana Vanyo said, "There were flames everywhere. We saw smoke from Conway, like 10 minutes away. There was smoke and flames everywhere. Every time it went down, it started coming up again. It just didn't stop."
Police do not believe anyone was in the building at the time.
An injured firefighter was taken to a hospital. A police officer was treated on the scene. Their names and conditions are not being released.
The fire marshal is investigating.
