Smoke Detector Saves Two in Ohio Blaze
Dayton firefighters said a man and his son are alive Friday morning thanks to a smoke detector.
Crews were called to the 1600 block of Leah Drive at about 4 a.m. on a structure fire.
Officials said a space heater sparked the fire and then the flames spread to the nearby couch.
No was hurt, but the home is a total loss, fire crews said.
