Electrical Fire Tackled By Iowa's Bravest

The high voltage electrical lines were an obstacle
Dec. 12, 2005

Des Moines fire crews spent a few hours Sunday at the scene of a fire underground.

The fire was an electrical one, underneath the building at 405 Sixth Ave.

Fire crews went inside, but because of the high voltage electrical lines, the crews had to evacuate the building until MidAmerican could arrive and shut off the power.

The building had to be cleared of smoke, but there was no damage.
