Albuquerque firefighters thought they had a fire out overnight, but were called back to the same home hours later to fight the blaze that had re-ignited.
It was shortly after 6:00 p.m. Thursday night when fire crews were called out to the two-story home on Snowheights in Northeast Albuquerque. Crews fought the fire for several hours and thought it was all out. Thinking the fire was out, AFD left the scene and ruled the home uninhabitable by the family living there.
Then, at about 3 a.m. Friday, crews were dispatched to the same home after receiving reports the fire had re-ignited. Again, crews fought a fire at the home and continued to do so throughout the night. In a precautionary move, AFD evacuated residents living in homes near the fire.
At this time, fire crews do not know what started the fire. The family living there, consisting of the parents, 2 kids, and an uncle, are all staying with relatives. There are no reports of any injuries from this fire.
