A person died Thursday in a fire in a Golden Hill home that had no working smoke alarm, 10News reported.
A floor furnace in the home in the 1800 block of Granada Avenue apparently caught a couch on fire at about 3:30 a.m.
The home had no functioning smoke detectors, according to fire officials.
A woman was taken to a nearby hospital. Her condition is not known.
The blaze was extinguished in about 30 minutes.
