EAST HAVEN, Conn. --
A volunteer firefighter helps save the lives of several people trying to escape a burning home.
The blaze broke out on Charnes Drive in East Haven just after 8 a.m. Sunday.
Four people inside had to jump out of windows to avoid the flames. A firefighter who lives nearby helped them make it to safety.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
