The investigation continues into an apartment house fire Sunday afternoon that killed an 8-month-old girl.
Firefighter were called to the home near Ninth Street and Sandusky Avenue at about 1:20 p.m.
Family members told KMBC that the child's father burned his arm trying to rescue the baby.
Fire crews were able to pull the girl out of the fire. She was rushed to a hospital, but later died.
"They were just screaming about the baby. 'My baby. My baby. Please, get my baby out. Please, get my baby out,'" neighbor John Wood said.
"They had to pretty much keep him from going back in there, because he was about to run back in there. I don't blame him. I would have done the same thing if it was my baby," said another neighbor.
The baby's father and his son were also taken to hospitals. Both are both expected to recover.
KMBC reported that three families lived in the apartment house. They are looking for new places to stay.
