Sunday, November 26, firefighters were called to action when a kitchen fire was reported at the 4907 Twelve Oaks Road. Crews that responded were from Truck 7 and Engine 7 (Cloverhill), Engine 16 ( Swift Creek ) and Engine 24 (Manchester station-Courthouse Road).
Battalion Chief Mark Nugent was in command, with Captain Randy Perdue from Bon Air station on scene as an Acting Battalion Chief. Manchester Volunteer Rescue Squad Unit 329 provided EMS support. TSO was Lt. Steve Traylor.
Engine 19 (Winterpock) provided station coverage for Cloverhill Station.
Crews arrived on scene to find smoke coming from A and D sides of the house.
Initial attack lines were 1 3/4. Engine 16 (Swift Creek) performed RIT, Truck 7 (Cloverhill) performed ventilation.
Ventilation was accomplished with large fans to remove the smoke. No damage was done to neighboring structures. The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates were not available.
