A massive fire ripped through an Irving apartment complex overnight, injuring a resident and firefighter, and destroying a building.
The fire broke out at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2400 block of N. MacArthur at Highway 183.
A resident suffered major burns and is recovering at Parkland Hospital.
An Irving police officer who went door-to-door waking people up and getting them out was overcome by smoke and taken to the hospital but he is expected to be OK.
Another firefighter was treated at the scene for injuries.
Investigators don't know yet what started the fire.
