Nov. 20, 2006
Investigators said a fire on Oct. 26 at Stern Oil in Council Bluffs was intentionally set and it is now a criminal investigation. The Iowa State Fire Marshal's Office is waiting for lab results before pinpointing the exact cause of the massive fire. They said the fire was related to a Ford pickup truck in front of the building. Investigators said they believe the fire started in the northeast corner of the building. The fire may have been started long before the first call to 911 was placed at 4:25 a.m. Any one with information leading to an arrest is eligible for a $15,000 reward.
