A Blount County volunteer firefighter who was hurt when he drove the fire engine off a bridge last week is doing better.

Michael Williams has been upgraded from serious to fair condition.

Williams was trying to get to the scene of a brush fire when he went over the bridge in the Locust Fork area on Thanksgiving Day.

Still no word on what caused the accident.
