A leaking gas main hampered efforts by firefighters to extinguish a restaurant blaze in Lincoln Park overnight.

The fire started at Hobnob's Restaurant, located on Dix Road, between Southfield and Outer Drive, at about 11 p.m. Thursday, according to Local 4.

MichCon crews were called to shut off the leaking gas main.

A stretch of Dix Road was closed while fire crews battled the blaze. Water from fire hoses also led to icy conditions on Dix Road, the station learned. Salt was brought to the scene to de-ice the roadway.

Firefighters continued to extinguish hot spots Friday morning.

The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported in the blaze.

There was extensive damage to the restaurant. The cause of the fire is not known.
