Six firefighters were hurt Monday when flames raced through a home on Union Avenue and spread to a house next door.

The two-alarm fire occurred in the Silver Lake section of Providence.

The firefighters reportedly suffered non-life threatening injuries. There is no official word on what caused the fire. Fire officials are expected on the scene on Tuesday.
