D.C. firefighters responded to an early-morning fire that displaced an unknown number of people in the Adams Morgan section of the city.

Officials said the fire was reported about 2:30 a.m., in the 2400 block of 18th Street, Northwest.

Firefighters said no one was hurt and they are trying to determine how many people were displaced by the blaze.

There was a report on News4 that the building served as a boarding house.

In a related incident, officials said a fire investigator headed to 18th Street was involved in a crash at 7th Street and Florida Avenue.

Police said the investigator swerved to avoid a car and crashed into a pole.
