A member of the fire department is accused of racial slurs against another member's biracial children.
NEWS9 has uncovered that an investigation into a member of the Steubenville fire department is under way. According to fireman Paul Bowman, another member of the fire department made racial slurs against his two bi-racial children. Bowman has since turned to the NAACP for help. It has no place in our society, no place with our city employees, no place in Steubenville, said NAACP President Royal Mayo. Steubenville Fire Chief Terri Kovach told NEWS9 Natalie Pasquarella that she had no comment when asked about the investigation, but she did confirm a third-party investigation is under way. Steubenville City Manager Bruce Williams told NEWS9 hes aware of the issue and that its a personnel matter currently under investigation. He went on to say that sometime in the future when all the facts are known, the information will be available to the public. Stay with NEWS9 for Continuing Coverage
