Iowa Firefighters Deliver Pizzas, Check Smoke Detectors
DES MOINES, Iowa --
Des Moines firefighters are teaming up with Papa John's pizza to make sure residents have a working smoke detector.
Firefighters delivered pizzas that were ordered Wednesday from the Southwest Ninth St. Papa John's.
Customers who had working smoke detectors in their home got their pizzas for free. Customers who didn't got a free smoke detector.
It's all part of October's Fire Prevention Month.
